Reichel/Pugh Designs Win 3 of 6 Classes at Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup
Porto Cervo, Italy (September 6, 2014) – Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (Annual): Classico Costa Smeralda
With the wind speed peaking at over 20 knots on the deep blue Costa Smeralda, framed by the rugged backdrop of the Sardinian coast, the conditions for the last day of the regatta were nothing short of spectacular. Reichel/Pugh designs won overall three of the six classes in the 36 boat fleet of this year’s Maxi Rolex Regatta.
In the Wally Class, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones helmed his R/P designed Wallycento (100’) Magic Carpet 3 (pictured below) to win the Wally class Maxi Yacht Rolex title along with the Wally Class Season’s Championship. Magic Carpet 3 was built by Wally Yachts and launched in 2013.
